Description of Program: Our state-approved special education school uses a Learning Center Model with small class size and individualized instruction. All teachers are Special Education certified and each classroom includes two teacher’s aids. We provide a full-time Guidance Counselor, School Social Worker, Reading Specialist, and Learning Disabilities Teaching Consultant (LDTC), to meet the needs of all individualized educational plans (IEP). There is a full-time nurse on duty to attend to the medical needs of the students. Students attending our Mary A. Dobbins School are residents of The Children’s Home treatment programs and day students referred from their local school districts.
